Manchester & District Golf Alliance

Seniors Championship at Cheadle Golf Club - Friday 14th September 2018 Sponsored by McKellens Masterclass

Cheadle Golf Club were great hosts for the annual Manchester Alliance Seniors Championship.
Good hospitality was backed by an interesting course with fast greens having their pins placed in very tricky positions. But two players from Greenmount had few problems as they pulled off a double taking the two trophies on offer.

The Archie Preston Trophy for the best nett score was won by Paul Dunn with a return of 76-16-60 seeing him home from Ian Farthing (Malkins Bank) 62 and Gordon Hamlett (Ashton on Mersey) 63. Jim Cox won the Trophy for best scratch score with a 70 finishing ahead of Simon Brown (Heaton Park) 71 and Peter Hamlett (Ashton on Mersey) 72.

The prizes were presented by John Stanford of Cheadle Golf Club who thanked all of the players and Alliance Secretary Ian Hales for making this an excellent and friendly event.
